A competition for SAS students who are presenting authors will be held and recognition for 4 outstanding posters will be given. The judging will take place on Sunday evening at SciX. All SAS students should put up their posters on Sunday evening before the opening mixer as well as on their assigned presentation day.
All SciX conferees are invited to submit titles. Student SAS members must select the appropriate box in the online paper submission form to ensure they are considered.
Student awardees will receive a free 1-year SAS membership and a plaque highlighting their achievement. For more information, please click the button below.
In 2019, the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS) and the SAS Atomic Technical Section introduced the SAS Atomic Spectroscopy Student Award. Now the IASA Student Award, this award is given to students (undergraduate or graduate) who have excelled in the area of Atomic Spectroscopy.
Students that apply for the award either need to be an SAS member or they can register at the time of submission. Student memberships can be completed online via the Membership Page of the SAS website. To learn more about the IASA Student Award, please use the link above.
This award is given to junior or senior undergraduate students for outstanding research in spectroscopy. Typically the award provides a travel grant to support undergraduate student attendance at SciX. The award is based upon merit and financial need, and students must present a paper at the SciX Conference in order to qualify. The Lester W. Strock Award is given by the New England Section of the Society of Applied Spectroscopy in recognition of a selected publication of substantive research in/or application of analytical atomic spectrochemistry in the fields of earth science, life sciences, or stellar and cosmic sciences.
